i was going through some old stuff and i found my stock fuel pump. would it be possible to use it for alochol? i have a stock fuel press. regulator but i'm guessing it wouldn't make enough pressure, or would it. or could i use some type of proportioning valve to controll flow? if i go straight off the pump, at 80 whatever # and reduce flow that would be essencially do the same thing as lower the pressure right? or am i just wasing my time?

just trying to save a few bucks!

Alcohol is corrossive. The pump will work for some time then seize due to rust.

So to answer your question.. yes till the pump dies. Forget the regulator. I'll spare you the grief and heartache.

HTH

thats what i was thinkig but i've got an idea. what if i put a valve before the pump to shut off alochol completely when i don't want it, and run oil through the pump every time i'm done running it? or am i still lookin at a ticking time bomb.

Ohh boy..this valve will have to be alcohol compatible, and you'll need to switch the power to the pump off as well. You run an EFI pump dry it will die. So to make your answer short and painless, get a shurflo pump and eliminate the grief. Actually if funds are low, dont run the car and possibly hurt it.. then that sets back your pump purchase.

By the time you add the valve, fittings, hoses, clamps, pain and suffering.. well you know the answer.
