My counts are always around 60-70 at idle warmed up tps set at .42

I have tried the throttle screw at all kinds of positions...I know turning the screw clockwise opens the throttle body blade and counterclockwise closes the throttle body blade...but it has no effect on iac counts? what am i doing wrong? i am adjusting tps accordingly...

Are you adjusting it then driving it then adjust it again? It is a slow process. I replaced my IAC and got the counts down but it took a while.

Alos I had to realy crank on that screw to get them where they needed to be.

i got the iac counts down to 15-20 but then i encountered a problem...

since the throttle screw was pushing the blade open quite a bit...once i started driving around the car would idle really high and basically start driving itself! i adjusted tps to be .42 again with the new iac counts...but the rpms were way high like 1400 rpms...i set the screw back to where it was and now iac counts are 55-60 and i can cruise around with no problem again engine ilding at around 750-850 rpms

I found on some TR's that you have to change the idle screw, shut down the car and then restart. DOn't really know why but one of mine is that way. My grandfathers is as well. Maybe there is a good reason but I've tried a new IAC in both cars and nothing seems to make it do different. My moonroof car will let you do it anyway you won't. If you change it's idle screw it will start adjusting imediatly. Hope this helps.

Yes, shutting off the ignition will reset the IAC. Do this anytime you are making adjustments and not getting satisfactory results.

With regard to the IAC, should not the reading be somewhere
between 10-30 at engine temperature and idle. When in park and
idling and warmed up mine will read a flat 0....When it goes in gear it will the start to move.

Now after highway driving when for example I come to a stop at a light the IAC will slowly decrease to about 12 and tick down from their. One time it read zero at the light. The car idled fine (Nice & Quiet) but that Zero reading kinda scares me.....Is my concern legit?
