cant shift into all gears?

this may be a stupid question but my shift indicator shows 4 "in gear" positions...OD-->D-->2-->1 yet I can only select three of them....there is no indicator as to which one I am using either I just guess. I know with my 700R4 in my f-body i could select 1-OD but on this it won't go into 1? My lock thing is busted too maybe that is the problem (i can shift without pressing in the button, it just moves back and forth)

any ideas or is this normal?

if the indicator dont work,youmust open the console to see if it is disconnected . now as far as not getting lo gear you may have to adjust the shifter cable,its position on the tranny pan ,replace a stretched cable,bad or broken shifter ,neutral safety to shift linage arm adjustment,change trans mount,or may have an internal linkage problem on the inside of the trans.this may sound stupid but make sure the trans is not a swapped in 3 speed w/only 3 forward gears ,.........you never know .allegheny,broad kensington, cheltenham, aramingo ave .this new yorker knows philly real good .red lion road hangout 61st street etc.........ben pilla om frankfort ave and in feasterville sell our products .we have many customers in philadelphia www.ckperformance.com 718 626 4315.............theres a link here to our site
