Car bomb kills head of Governing Council

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The head of the Iraqi Governing Council was killed in a suicide car bombing near a U.S. checkpoint in central Baghdad on Monday, dealing a blow to U.S. efforts to stabilize Iraq ahead of a handover of sovereignty on June 30.

I am no political science major, but I was wondering why the Iraqi's "extremists" (???) are doing this. I thought they didn't want us in Iraq, so obviously by doing this, we're going to stay longer.

Can someone explain this?

The Iraqi extremists obviously do NOT want a democratic Iraq so they are willing to do whatever it takes to prevent this from happening (i.e. killing the head of the Iraqi Governing Council)....

At least that is the way I see it.....

I say leave iraq let those ragheads sort eachother out and kill themselves then we just go in and sweep the floor and take over, we done what we could , S*** like this will continue to happen and more american lives will be lost. its a tragedy but we cannot undo what they know how to do best for over 100 yrs which is kill eachother for religion and thier beliefs.

Maybe it's time to pull our troops out. Let the joint turn into one giant terrorist training camp where every towel-wrapper in the middle east can show up to learn how to kill Americans.

Let the Frenchies and Krauts get a good laugh at our expense when we pull our troops out. But alas, the last laugh will be ours.
