car got fixed and unfixed at the same time!!!

today i got my car diagnosed and found out the top half (heads and such) is in great shape. compression is 150-160 psi per cylinder and leakdown is 4-7 percent. not bad for 113,000 miles i was told. the only thing wrong is the fuel pump is weak and the injectors need rebuilding/replacing (thinking of getting 50 lb MSD's) and the driver side motor mount is broken and the starter bendix is going bad. anyway i get my car back today and it has lost all reverse gear, wont shift to 3rd in Drive and wont shift to 4th in OverDrive. it kinda pisses me off so im going back to get it seen about Wednesday probably. i tried resetting the T.V. cable to stock and it didnt help. any suggestions as to what the problem is/could be? i know the tranny and torque converter are brand new in the car.

Looks like the same problem I had with my transmission. The low/reverse clutches went out on you. Adjusting the TV cable won't do any good. I had my Transmission rebuilt after I had this problem.

thats weird b/c the tranny had been rebuilt and only had 200 miles on it when i got the car and ive only added maybe 1000-1500 miles to the car with normal everyday driving. i think the tranny came with a 6 month warranty so i will call the place that rebuilt it and have them take a look at it. thanks

Try posting this in the tranny section. Bruce WE4 and a couple of other guys can point you in the right direction to fix your tranny problem.

thanks but Aamco finally caved in and admitted they hadnt even looked at the tranny and its only about $350 for parts and no labor charge and i get 2 new motor mounts and a tranny mount out of it i believe. thanks for all your help
