car kinda chugging

got the car half way runnin today but when i go to get on it it kinda sputters and fells like something is just keppin it from going. but if u manually shift it will rap out better. any help is welcome

Look for vacuum leaks everyhwere.

Does the check engine come on and then go off at start up? If not, you may have an ECM issue.
