I just got a 83 Buick Regal T-Type a few days ago, and i am trying to get it running right. I have a thread already started for my vac line setup so hopefully i can get it cleared up with that. The problem is that when the car first starts up, it needs a little bit of help with the gas to keep running and when its fully warmed up you dont have to touch it at all, and in gear it will die every once an a while. when driving the throttle response is HORRIBLE, i know it is a turbo car, but i know the difference between lag and horrible response. it bogs, and it will take a second, and it will start spoolin up and then gradually climb although it still climbs slowley... i honestly dont know what to expect from the car because i am new to the carbed turbo cars... if it isnt the vac lines what could it be??? i tried tuning the idle, and that makes no difference... any help would be appreciated... links, tips anything.... Thanks!!!

I don't know where you live, so what are the ambient temps like? The EGR heats the plenum under the carb. If it's cold out and the EGR isn't working (which is common on a ~25 year old car), the fuel will puddle on the cold plenum and cuase a bog.

Plugged convertor will cuase lag as well.

You should hook up a boost gauge and see what's going on.

i live in saint louis MO... its like 35 degrees around here... i got the car running pretty good after some vac line replacements, and the messed up plug wire... but the car still isnt as responsive as id like it to be, so im interested in replacing the egr anyway, since its the same one from 83... i see things floating around about scans, but where can i get my car scanned so i can see everything i might need to replace or pay attention to... what else should i replace on this motor to get it in tip top running condition??? i got a new pcv valve, and a 165*thermostat, i saw it on your parts list and it wasnt any extra money so i went ahead and got that.... i cant find the pcv valve on my motor, could you point me towards that direction??
