Please give me your thought and ideas on this. My T has column shift, but some previous owner installed buckets and a little armrest/storage bin.
Since the install of SMC, Scanmaster, and Boost commander, I'm now on electronic gadget overload. I don't want to keep this stuff up on the dash where it's visible all the time. I want to buy or build a center console that has a slide top or flip top to hide the stuff, but give me easy access. I want to be able to yank the scanmaster out and pop it up on the dash for track night. Also, I want the wires hidden, so I'd prefer that the "console" of choice travel all the way up the hump just like a stock GN or T center console.
My first thought is to pick up a regular GN center console and modify the space where the shifter usually resides and make a door of sorts, but I don't think there will be enough room down there for all the crap. Also, I cringe at making permanent damage to a relatively rare item.
I picked up a few of those cheesy consoles at Pep Boys, but none really fit well and none can hide the wires.
Any ideas?
