Change my hood ornament??

I was wondering if someone could help me. I am going to replace my hood ornament on my 86' T Type and was wondering if there is any easy way to go about it. Do I have to remove the grille or what?? And if I indeed have to remove the grille to do this,how does the grille come off?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

you do not need to remove the grille. just look up from under the front end of the car (putting it on a hoist makes it very easy). you should see a rubber mat on the bottom side of the car that connects to the bottom of the grille by some barbed push pins. remove the barbed push pins from the grill and let the rubber mat hang down. this will give you access to reaching up to the underside of the header panel where the two nuts are securing the ornament. remove the two nuts and the ornament will come right out. it's really a pretty simple job.:wink:
