I will be changing my injectors in the next week or two and was wondering if you guys could make a few suggestions so it will run as smoothly as possible. Also how long of a job am I looking at. Take into consideration that I am probably the least mechanically inclined person on this board:p .TIA

this was my way: Loosen the down pipe. You may wont to take the up pipe off. OR loose. Take the throttle bracket off. Lossten the the 2 bolts the are between the turbo and the heat sheild.(pass. side) Take the turbo mounting braket loose as well. Fuel pressure regulator needs to come loose as well. Obviously the induction tube must come off. If not bypassed all ready take of the coolant lines to the throttle body.. I would just leave those blocked off. Romove the turbo, this may be a pain, but work with it. 4 bolts hold in the injector rail, remove those and the Fuel line going to it. pry the rail out carfully and the injectors may need some persuation. If you can takin the hood of make this much easier. HOpe this help I did mine in the street in front of my house because my mom dosent let me work on my car in the garage or driveway. So it shouldnt be too hard..

Be careful.

It you are the least mechanically inclined person on this Board I have a few suggestions:

1] The intake manifold in aluminum. You have the take great care when removing and installing the 4 hold down bolts.

2] The fuel rail can be tricky to remove, be careful where you pry

3] Buy and install a new injector harness. It is cheap insurance

4] Install new "o" rings througout

5] Don'f buy rebuilt injectors-my opinion-

If I get a new injector harness is it plug and play or will I have to do some splicing of wires to get it to work? Is there a specific torque when reinstalling the hold down bolts? Thanks for the help so far guys it's a big help and they are new injectors(42.5hr). When I am going to do this I'm going to send my turbo in to have it upgraded.

Caspers electronics is a direct plug in. Sometimes they are on EBAY for a lot less than retail. SPlicing sucks. my opinion-spend the money for the pigtail new

I don't have my book with me. I can check later-It's not very tight though- Think Aluminum threads......

Splicing sucks. I've got one of many blown headgaskets hanging on the wall from a bad splice in my injector harness LOL.
