check ball in the input shaft

Does the check ball in the input shaft have to be there for a lock up converter.Mine does not have one and the converter still would lock up.Can any one explaine what the check ball does.

It's a fluid restriction, It makes the TCC apply smother.

I took mine out during the rebuild, feels like a 4th shift.

Don't worry about it.

i agree,HOWEVER WITH A WEAK CONVERTOR IT CAN BREAK THE TURBINE WELD IN THE CONVERTOR DURING LOCKUP.WWW.CKPERFORMANCE.COM
