My '85 Gn has been sitting for a while with out being driven.I went to start it today and my check engine light keeps flashing very fast and my volt light was on ,The motor is sputtering and my up pipe was glowing cherry red and so was part of my exhaust manifold? It still has stock chip I checked it says made in the phillipenes? Is my computer fried? What is wrong with my car?
HELP:confused:

wow:confused:

i'd disconnect the power wire to the ecm and have a good look at the chip, calpak and wiring harness.pull the big plugs off of the ecm and make sure there is no corrosion or moisture in them.

later,sean

You know the "paper-clip" trick to get trouble codes? Leaving the paper clip in the connector will put you in "field-test" mode if you start the engine...The check engine light will flash quickly in "field-test" mode while in open loop. Once in closed loop, it will either flash slowly, stay lit or turn off (depends on 02 sensor voltage)

Otherwise, I don't know why the light would flash quickly, but something's not right...

'84-'85 dyno chip?

Last month I put a E.S.P '84-'85 dyno chip on and it ran like crap!It would spit out black smoke and only run fast when it had 100 octane and floored it.I put factory chip back on and did not start it till today,Now it runs and sounds like crap?Did I fry somethin?

Since you just swapped chips make sure it's in all the way and no bent pins. Unless you have that paper clip stuck in the aldl, a quick flashing light usually means computer trouble.
