Check Engine Light (VSS Code)

I put a 3.8l from an '84 T-Type into '80 El Camino. The check engine light comes on and the problem code detects VSS, but I don't have a speed sensor. Any ideas how to get past this?

i would give caspers electronics a call, they sell vss and generaters for the trans to convert a signal so the computer can read,if you are not running a lockup converter, call and have a new chip burnt to deleate that code.

Got the VSS hooked up. WOW. Smooths out the shifting and hopefully it send my gas mileage up.
