That bushing is shot. This bushing is narower than the others and has the spacer you see to prevent overtightening, but it is obviously missing rubber.Good news is that its very easy to replace.

I have the same situation. I was told the bushing is just history, missing, gone-to-the-happy-hunting-ground, etc. Louie is right; it needs another one.

#3, #4 and #7 are just washers. That is a picture of a washer. The upper looks like its not in the greatest shape (cracks), but since its under compression, I wouldn't feel too bad about just slapping a new lower on there and calling it good.

So UNGN

Are you saying there should be a rubber mount between the washer and the frame rail??

No and Yes.

There wasn't from the factory, but if this were another G-body (i.e. Monte Carlo) there would be.

If the bolt will come out, it's snap to add the missing bushing. If the bolt breaks, you'll have to cut a hole in the floor to get out the captive nut. :(

Check the #3, #4 and #7 positions for lower bushings. If they just have washers, remove the washers and replace them with GM part number 457915, which is the stiffest of the factory bushings that I have found (it has the most rubber). If you have a southern car, this should take less than 1/2 hour. If you have a northern car.....well... sell it and buy a southern car.

Heres a diagram that will help explain the locations:

Does anyone sell a bushing kit that includes all the bushings including the GNX one? (energy suspension?)

I just added the 3's and 4's (already did the 7's before). I can really feel a difference. Missing bushings, bigger sway bars, Bilsteins and the GP frame brace - it's feeling less and less like a Buick (aka big, road marshmallows :D )

If the cars is rusty, drill a small hole in the washer and squirt some PB blaster up there. Then wait a day or two. You really don't want to break those bolts. HTH
