Chip question

I recently purchased an 84 GN, and the owner said it has a chip. He didnt remember what chip is was....so how can i tell what chip i have?

Pull the chip out of the computer and see if there is any kind of writing on it. If so theres the answer to your question, and if not then you probably wont be able to tell.
