I have a cig. lighter adaptor from a old cd player can I use this?

How do you wire the ground?

Exactly what are you wanting to use this for?

If you're looking for a way to power a laptop you're gonna need an inverter.

Yeah, Its for my scanmaster. I just hooked it up and started the car for the first time for about 10 seconds after startup the knock retard was reading 8 deg. is this normal from the engine cranking over?

Also do I need to diconnect and reconnect the negative battery cable every time I remove scanmaster from the lighter outlet?

Yeah it's normal to see all that knock sensor activity on startup. Remember, that starter is smacking the be-jesus out of the engine.


I don't see why you'd need to disconnect the negative battery cable. Why are you doing this?

OH I see what yer talking about. No you don't need to do that. They just tell you do that during install so you don't fry yourself on a hot wire.
