cold air vs hot air?

Is there any difference between these cold air intake setups and the hot air intakes? I was just thinking all the air goes through the turbo anyways so it will get heated up no matter what. To cool it down is the intercoolers job. I might be wrong on this but i couldnt' justify paying 100 dollars more for the cold.

Then don't spend $100 on it. I made mine for about $20. I used a heater hose from my VW, a small piece of 3in pvc, the factory elbow, and 3 rubber clamps from Home Depot. Looks pretty good, too. See pics on my page.

As you know air gets heated when compressed. If you start with 70º ambient and compressing adds 150º, you will have a cooler charge than starting with 95º ambient and adding 150º from compression.
