i have a 86 t type runs 10.30s it has a precision 67hpq turbo with 4 inch inlet,my piping reduces to 3" to clear the throttle body intake pipe.also running a k&n filter behind bumper,my ? is if i took my intake pipe off and left turbo opening open or just removed filter, you think it would help performance any?what are u guys with low10 sec, cars useing for cold side intake,it runs a sd chip so no maf
thanks

Removing the filter wouldn't help enough to notice, and removing the intake pipe you'd need to stick the maf right on the turbo (unless you're using a speed density chip). You could run the intake to one of the high beams for a shorter run but remember the air is travelling through all the intercooler piping as well. I don't think the reduced intake length would help that much.
