Is it possible to have a reverse pattern 400 w/ trans brake, with a column shift? Looking at a 400/ w a brake for my build up,but don't want to lose the oringinal look of my car. Jim

Yes it is possible.
It would be best to modify the column for a positive reverse lockout.

On the column you could add a detent so that the car cannot be shifted into reverse without pulling the lever towards the wheel.
Or make the column actually operate a ratchet shifter via linkage.

he is going to be shifting down, not up..
the reverse pattern will work.. no problem.. go for it

Yes but NHRA rules require a reverse lockout.

well it still has reverse lockout. "the factory one" even though he will be shifting in a downwards postion... NOWHERE IN THE SAME DIRECTION AS REVERSE

NHRA doesn't care what valve body you are using, their rules require a reverse lockout. I have a column shift car and it doesn't have a reverse lockout on it.
