Went to the track today, and the first run didn't record right, said I got a 10.34 @ 112mph, sad thing, that was the only decent run (and I know it couldn't have been a 10). 2nd run about half track I got compressor surge, boost was jumping between 19-25psi. Only ran a 13.1, 3rd run I disconnected the BOV, but didn't crank down the spring pressure, so it vented the boost around 18psi, once again it ran in the 13's. 4th and final run I reconnected the BOV, and once again got compressor surge and ran a low 13.

The car has NEVER done this on the street, but seems to do it at the track pretty often. What would cause compressor surge at WOT??? I am going to throw away (Sell!? ) the BOV and weld up the hole, see if that helps, what else could I try?? It was a pretty disappointing day at the track. The time in the sig is with a pt51, 50# injectors, slipping tranny and a cracked manifold! Figured I'd at least have a little better MPH, but will have to figure out this surge problem first I guess.:frown:

Doesn't sound like compressor surge, it sounds like your BOV is leaking. Might need a stiffer spring, which brand and what color spring and rate is inside it?

Make a thin plate and install it in place of the BOV and let it rip. Of course, make sure the vacuum line feeding it is plugged off.

I think it's an ATR, never opened it up, not sure what spring is in it, but its never seemed to work "as it should". Thanks for the idea on making the plate!
