Computer chip applications

About a year ago I purchased 6 supposed performance chips for an 86 GN on Ebay with a computer, my question is do I dare try them in my 84 T-Type or can I hurt something by installing them...the computer has the same number as the one I have.

84/85 and 86/87 are very different- don't use the chips- unless you've converted to the 86/87 setup.

Thanks, I knew the systems are vastly different, I just was unsure of the programming differences in the cpu. I guess I'll go buy a new chip.
