Here is probably the best fit that won't cause you any problems

Front: 17x8 with 4.5 inch backspacing with 245/45/17 or 235/45/17
Rear: 17x9 with 4.75 inch backspacing with 255/45/17 or 275/40/17

You might be able to get a 17x9.5 with 4.75 backspacing on the back, but not all cars sit square on the frame and not all rearends are centered on G-bodys, so you might (probably not) run into a problem.

I have 9 inch rims on the back of mine; if I had to do it again I would go with 9.5 inch rims.

What Silver Fox said, a lot of people are running that combo.

I can't decide if I want 17s or 18s, leaning towards 18s though.

I LOVE YOUR CAR Silver Fox.!.! Thanks for the info. Is your car lowered?

I saw your car and I like the stance it has. Brakes? I want disks on all 4s. Would 17 be enough. And why 18s over 17s???

I too am thinking about some black enkei rims in 17". Silver Fox, are these numbers with no offset just the backspacing?

I just like the way 18s look. 17s give you better rubber options, but I'm not planning on racing it on 17s or 18s so that doesn't matter to me.

I'm still torn, I can't make a decision.

Just the backspacing number. I am not really sure what offset is...sounds like fwd wheel stuff to me. Maybe a wheel expert will chime in and explain that to us.

Will a 17x9" (5" backspace) work?

I dont know........... go measure your car and find out!

Jack car up on jackstands, put on rear axle, remove wheels. Put straight edge on the face of the drum where the wheels mount and measure both sides of the car to the frame and see how much clearance is there. HTH
