Hello,
I am considering a new car. I currently have a 98 Pontiac Ws.6 w/ 70k mi. (f/s if anyone wants) I am considering a turbo car(TB,TTa, or a typhoon) I just wanted to hear peoples opinions on what is the most reliable daily driver. I will definetley take care of it, but im not driving it like a grandma. What would be the least expensive to maintain, I'm just a brokeass college student. For some reason it seems like Turbo buicks hold up better than typhoons, but this is just what i've observed. Just wanted to hear what you guys have to say. 40 freeway miles round trip.

I drive mine 30 miles each way and its my only car. The thing still gets about 20 mpg and I drive it like I stole it. Buy the TR and be done with it. Great cars if you take care of them. Plus, they don't look like a S-10! :D j/k Sy/Ty guys, they are nice too!

Mines a daily driver, as well as the last two I've owned:)

Very reliable, just maintain them:)

I wouldn't recommend a TTA as a daily driver. Ride is too harsh, too low to constantly get in/out of and not much cargo room.

The Sy/Ty's engines aren't as bullet proof as the Buick, not to mention they're more expensive and difficult to work on.

I'd recommend a Turbo Regal as an all around excellent daily driver.

My T-Type is my daily driver, I love the way it cruises on the freeway and if someone is in my way I just spool on by them.

Like what kind of stuff do you guys do to maintain it? What would be some good mods assuming i want to stay reliable and economical. I was thinking alky + ?. I'd put whatever extra money i got out of my car into whatever makes it run good. Is it a very good idea to get turbolink? I'm pretty tech saavy, but is it worth it to take the couple hundred and put it into a laptop + program? I want the TR to have almost as much kick as my current car, but i can barely keep up w/ the maintaince as is.

My GN isn't a daily driver, but imo any car can be a reliable daily driver. Just depends how it was treated before you owned it and how you take care of it. Routine maintaince is required on all cars.

get a 340 fuel pump, adjustable regulator, TE44 or TA49, some decent injectors and a chip...you'll be smokin LS1 cars no problem with alky. The car will still be dead on reliable. First thing is first though, BUY A SCANMASTER!
