dialing in more boost

ok guys rookie here lol
this is what i got 87 gn stock motor 24 core intercoler ta49 turbo alcky injected blue stripe 5 pound injectors scanmaster 2800 st all have a dail a boost knob cant seem to get the car to go over 20 pounds of boost i know for a fact that the car has seen 28 lbs. consistantly i would like to run around on 26lbs. of boost i know i can do i am far from detonnating on 20 lbs. and im still running rich o2 s are at about .820 does any one have any suggestions?

Don't tune for O2's if you want your engine to last long.

First of all, Learn as much as you can before going "gung ho" on the boost. Tuning from the 02 sensor is perfectly fine as long as it stays within range 750-800 WOT in third and pull a plug to match the readings .... If you are going to run big boost later on, then get an EGT meter.

As for your boost problem, I dont know as I have never delt with a dial boost.

You're not going to be able to run 26-28 lbs of boost on alky unless you have a very low timing chip.

I've never really dealt with a dial a boost either, but you may be able to tighten the wastegate rod to bring your dial a boost into its operating range.
