this weekend i replaced my tcc solenoid (which cured the screwy shifts after warming up) and also changed the filter while i was in there. the question relates to the type of fluid i used, its valvoline type "FA". i was instructed to use type F,. first of all it seems odd to me to mix 4 or 5 quarts of type F with whatever was in there before, but i'm no tranny pro so i listened (sort of). now my concern is whether or not type "FA" is an acceptabe substitute for the type "F" i intended to use, or should i just have the entire system flushed and refilled at this point. thanks, aaron

you'll Be fine.

Fa is Type F so you will be good to go. Mixing Type F and dextron is ok it won't hurt anything.
