I see a lot of post these days on removing swirls and water spots so here's a bit of advice. If you're serious about how your Turbo buick looks get yourself one of the Porter Cable Dual Action polishers, a velcro backing pad and a set of polishing pads. For a l long time I viewed that as an expensive luxury that I didn't really need and something that has to be used with care to prevent dammaging paint, then I got one for Christmas. Wow Particularly if you use the multi component waxes like meguars mirror glaze and zaino. My standard regiment of cleaner, glaze and protectant took me 2 days to apply to my truck by hand. With a DA polisher it's a half day affair.

First The double action polisher is no more agressive that polishing by hand, unlike a rotary buffer. WHile it's posslble to dammage paint with it you could do the same dammage by hand.

Second for removing serious defects, Type II waterspots, Swirls you either have to have arms like Arnold or a machine

But if you go this route go for the porter cable as it has enough power to do the job.
