dyno testing using a lambda sensor?

I have a friend who own's a Clayton Dyno, and just purchased a Lambda sensor to use in conjunction with his dyno for tuning purposes. Our question is where to put the sensor for the most accurate readings. Keith thompson is not a buick guy ( his loss)
but is one of the smartest driveability people in Jacksonville Fl. He is looking for info as to where to put this sensor for best results when making a run on his dyno. Help is always appreciated!

For WOT tuning just about anywhere, other then real close to the tail pipe will be just fine, ie less then a foot from the end of the exhaust.

The whole column at WOT is going to be well homogenized.

What does change is response time to AFR changes, the exhuast pulses do take time to travel thru the pipe.

If you plan at anytime to get into really tuning things, other then just WOT, you will want to have it fairly responsive, ie close to the motor.

I have mine mounted just behind where the cat converter would normally be.
