OK guys, is this what i think it is? It doesn't look billet to my "untrained" eye.

Intercooler, thanks for providing the link and thats what i thought it was. I feel sorry for the winner and the losers won't know they actually won.

So your saying there is a problem with the cast "econo"/budget POS rollers:rolleyes:

PTE told me there was only 4 reported failures out of the hundred or so they sold:rolleyes:   ...just so happens that I had 2 and a buddy had 1...that only leaves 1 so that ones has gotta be good

What ever happened to the list of failures that PTE ask for anyway?

It's up to $250. Did they cost that much new? The Crane cam for my 440 Chrysler cost me $80, plus another $60 for the variable
duration lifters. But, then again, that was in 1988, and a set of
camshafts for my 86 Porsche 928 are about a grand!!!

tick, tick, tick. Shouldn't have posted this. The archives have finally been filled up again.... :D

I'll take $150 for my setup...that will leave em $100 for the bearings he'll wipe out.

Well, it's up to $300. Checked their feedback and in April they won an auction for GN air dams. Makes me think they have a GN since i've seen nothing to indicate they're trying to sell them. Also a point of interest is the fact they've won 3 auctions for Ford Lightning speed parts. Probably just a coincidence. Surely a fellow GN'er wouldn't purposely sell that setup.....Carter

Just one question...

Has anyone e-mailed the bidder(s) to let them know what they're bidding on? If that was me I surely would hope a fellow GN owner would inform me of the problems!

Unless I am mistaken, anyone who's registered on Ebay can e-mail the leading bidder.

Carolina, thats a wonderful idea. I was thinking, would you lead the way by alerting them of a possible problem with this setup from a fellow GN owner. I know i would appreciate it if i were them. Happy 4th of July my friends.....Carter

I've been burned by the PTE cam and took the liberty of emailing the high bidder and seller - this is not right,he must know this cam is a failure waiting to happen and thats why he didn't use it

Steve

TTA850, great. I'm glad you did. Have you heard from either party? ....Carter.....ps: great looking stable of TA's

Steve,

I was one of the unlucky fellows that bought one of these POS cams too. Myself and a half dozen other guys I know wiped out motors with them.

I did the same thing you did by e-mailing the seller and the high bidder too. I didn't hear back from either party. I actually went as far as to ask the seller to close the auction and not sell this thing to anyone. Fat chance right?

At least we tried.

Neal

No you didn't.... you all installed them wrong.

With the wave of a Jedi hand, "these aren't the droids you're looking for."

750H.P.V6 and TTA850, you guys did a wonderful job of alerting the principals in this auction. Really is nothing else that can be done and ya'll have made us all proud. Our comunity really is "GOING FAST WITH CLASS" and one that i'm proud to be associated with.....Carter

No you didn't.... you all installed them wrong.

No way man, there were only 4 reported faiures...I had 2 my friend had 1, so that only leaves a possibility of one more:rolleyes:

No bad installs here, we "over reved them"
No wait...we used too light of spings that were supplied by PTE:confused:

Not much impact!

Don't think you guys are making much impact on the buyers. I see no bid retractions or cancellations. Don't feel bad I e-mailed the guys paying $120.00 for a $63.00 hood liner and most said they didn't know where to find the part number but didn't retract their bids:confused:

One more try

Guy's,

I figured I'd try one more time to get the attenntion of the guy who is the high bidder on this POS. I sent him a link to this thread. If he doesn't get the point now then he deserves to own a "Budget Roller".

Neal

I havent heard back from either person, but we did what we could - I just hope this doesnt turn into a disarter for the cams new owner :(

Steve

We'll know in a couple of monthes when he posts a new thread here about wiping a roller cam. It's been a while now, time for this to start all over:)
