I'm bored and was reading about rolled, filleted cranks. can some explain what this means or provide a link that would explain? trying to learn more...Gary

The rolled fillet crank is the stock Buick turbo crank. The rolled fillets are small grooves in the crank journals. They are there for added strength. Type rolled fillet in the search bar on the main page and you can get some good pictures. Thats how I found some before buying my crank last month. All turbo cranks should have them, unless they have been "turned" out of the crank journals (you probably don't want a crank that has been turned that much anyway!).

here is a good pic of a rolled fillet crank that came out of my engine. it's now a crank lamp :)

BTW care to explain what is in the #3 rod journal. i think this crank has been welded and replaired before. it has 2 small hairline crack across the journal around the repair.

definately looks welded nice lamp:smile:, you should make a matching coffee table out of and trashed block.
