I have my intake off the car currently, and was wondering if while it would be easy I should block off my EGR? Are there any benefits/disadvantages to doing so? I know I've seen or heard of a lot of guys doing it, so I assume theres a reason. If this is something I should do, what all is involved?

Anyone? I tried searching for info, but for some reason all i get is "sorry, no results". Someone out there has to have some info, right?

There are many factors that can effect the decision and a goal must the stated. Examples; Track car, DD, inspection required, etc.

Even at that, there will be differences of opinion.
Sorry for not being more help on this. I will search and see if I can find info on this.

I think many chip burners do not use the EGR at all, so many folks block their EGR off, or like I did, mill it down inside the intake and weld it shut. Less obstruction in the intake, no hot air being recycled back into the intake tract, etc.

Sorry for not giving enough info. Will be for a daily driver, will only see track use a few times a year just for fun. I live in Florida, emissions inspections are not required. I have a turbotweak chip in it, which I believe disables the EGR anyways, though I'm not sure.

I udnerstand the purpose and functionality of an EGR system, I just was hoping some of the guys who have tried this before could tell me what specific impact (good and bad) this has on a hotair turbo regal.

Even if theres no significant performance benefit, as long as it hurts nothing and is relatively easy to accomplish, I would want to do it just to clear out some room under the hood and make it easier to get to stuff on the drivers side.

If it effects driveability and dependability negatively, or is a pain to do properly, then I think I'll pass.

I've had mine blocked off for years can't say it caused any issues by doing so.
