egt problems

i just bought a 240z with a gn swap never worked on these motors i am having issues with my egt when driving about 65 on the freeway it will hit about 1000 1100 is this bad and and feedback would help.

Pretty normal. Under boost you will see 16-1700.
Adding a little fuel will bring it down some. Where is the thermocouple located?

not sure what i should say is dont know a whole lot about engines in general so are you talking about where the monitor is connected

also will get a really random ticking noise when egt sit at about a thousand to long

i was behind the wheel and drove this one down the 1320 at etown raceway NJ for a friend , last i heard the car was down south , scary fast car then and we knocked about another second off it after that pass

didnt have an egt then

If it runs at all it would have to be fast.

I think he needs to take it slow until he figures a little out.

its definately fast enough for me it has ran an 11.9 before i bought it i have never been to the track yet. and no this was built buy a guy here in utah.
