EGT temps

What do the EGT temp reading tell you? How is it used to tune the car?

You may want to do a search on this, lotsa info out there....
That being said, an egt probe is usually mounted in the stock O2 location to measure temperature. Lean will read hot (1600 deg +), but overly rich will also ready hot. My car has always been fastest on the edge, right around 1690 deg F.
