Thsi is on my TTA, but I hopped in it to run to the store and the instrument panel lights were gone, along with the tail lights and the head lights will not go down once popped up. Head lights work and brake lights work.
Found that the 20 amp fuse for "Tail" was burned up, when I put in a new, with everything off, it sparked and burned it up too.

What the heck could I start looking at to track down the short or how should I go about it?
I've never had this kind of short in a car before, and its only got 11k miles!! I did install 2 gauges last year, I'll start there but other than that, thats the only wiring tampering thats on this car, and thats not spliced into anything on this particular fuse.

i have had this happen on a regal, one of the tailight bulbs had shorted out inside itself.................. hope this helps. pat

Turns out it was the headlight motor relay that pops the headlights up and down on the TTA.
