Emblems placement and pre-cleaning the surface???

Just as the title states-I have a 86 T-Type and want to place the emblems in the correct spot on the trunk. Can anyone please help me with the measurements for both emblems and what to use to pre clean the area before placing the emblems . The trunk has old glue on it!!! Thanks for any help. Oh yeah, did the 86 T-Types have the Buick emblem or the T Type emblem on the passanger side??? I have seen both emblems on 86 T-Types!!!!

My 85 has the T type emblems on both passenger and driver sides, buick emblem on the left side of the trunk, 3.8 sfi turbo on the right side of the trunk. I believe there is a regal emblem also that goes on the rear left quater

the trunk emblems are backwards. supposed to have the buick on the passenger side and the 3.8 sfi turbo on the drivers. I have been trying to get the dimensions on the exact placement as well with no luck. Probably the best glue remover is a product called "goof-off"

If you check outpage 89 of Kirbans guide. This is for a 1986, but I think they are all the same. The 3.8 Emblem goes on the drivers side sits about1 1/2 " up from the top edge of thetrunk lid molding. About 1/2" of the Edge. The Buick emblemis also about 1 1/2" up fromthe top edge of the trunk lid moldiing, but 3 1/4" from the edge. Hope this helps. How are you Kevin!! Hope all is well!!!!!!!!!!!!

Geez Mike, didn't recognize you it's been a long time! Doing about as well as I can. Does anybody know the measurements on the fender emblems or do I take the GN measurements and kinda eyeball it from there???

Seen that, wondering how close the "T-Type" emblems are to that. Seems to be a great mystery.......
