I just installed a GNX dash on my 86 and no longer use the factory boost gauge setup. I forgot, does the ECM use the MAP sensor for anything or was it just used to read boost? Reason I ask is because I want to run my aftermarket boost gauge directly from the hard line vacuum port and disconnect the factory MAP sensor hard line. I just can't remember if the MAP sensor was used for anything else other than reading boost.

nope your right..in a stock type set up its only there to drive the boost gauge

sweet thanks...........didn't think the stock ECM was like a FAST:D

although now that rings a bell.....you only use the MAP if you run a translator PRO or FAST in which they are both using speed density and not using a MAF sensor......ok makes sense now....its all coming back

Just a reminder in case you forget or didn't know....IF you plan on using Razors alky system in the future you'll need to provide 5V and ground to the MAP sensor. The GNX dash conversion no longer provides the 5V and ground for the MAP. I'd hate to see you pop a head gasket because of that.....ask me how know.;)
