I have one with a Pats 3500 and am wondering how fast they have been going

Kind of off topic, but have you had much success with your PATS? I had/have one that the stator broke twice on a mid 11 second car.

thats kinda strange havent heard of anyone else having that problem

the one he has above is a custon built unit I had pats build and its been in another car here that went 10.20's at 134 weighing in at 3600#

so how did pats hadle your issue .. thats the main thing

Well, I bought it used :frown: So, I had no factory warranty. I had my tranny builder send it off to someone. That "someone" replaced the stator. I got it back, took it to the track (6 passes, all in the 11.6 to 11.5 range), worked good. On the way home, I got on the car pretty hard and the tranny went BOOM! Took the trans back out, and could not get the converter out of the transmission. I ASSume something with the torque converter broke again, but no confirmation yet. The tranny is still with the builder and no word yet (that was 3 weeks ago.) This was a 3500 lock up with the billet front cover. On my final 3 passes, I did lock up the converter.

I am not saying these are bad converters, I was just trying to see if anyone else has had a similar problem. I have had bad luck this year with transmission problems. During the spring, I broke a band in the transmission. This is a built trans, the only thing the trans does not have is the billet OD something or rather. After getting this fixed, I decided to put the PATS in. The PATS lasted about 3 weeks, then the stator broke. Got the TC fixed, put the trans in, same day went to the track. That night I got towed home :frown: Thats where I stand right now. My car has been down most of the summer this year because of these problems. Good news is that I can take the transmission out in 45 minutes and put it back in in an hour or so. Bad news, this has cost me alot of money, I was hoping to buy other mods this summer.

Sorry for highjacking this thread WS6!!

put plain and simple 2004r trannies suk

I have a $2800 tranny in the garage that went to the track twice and is all burnt up now .. but due to time frame its not warrantied :( even tho most of that time the car was sitting with no motor/tranny in it

so back to the original question

well if this helps been running cks stage 2 for 4 years with no problems. the fastest time was 10.56@128mph if this helps

thank, you are the first to post with a response to my question. I appreciate it. ;)

we rate them at 600 /600 however our shop car tests have put over 750hpower thru them and broken the output shafts.they will take more than 600 but at that point the gear ratio is counterproductive to 60 footer,et ,traction and the amount of time you are in first gear.if youve got high power then use the aod.with the right converter and its favorable gear ratios itll pull the car down the quarter faster guaranteed .we have new planets and shaft ,o/drive carrier coming out to further strengthen the 2004r but a lack of interest in the parts may completely scrap the project after we produce them for our transmissions only and not to be available seperately.im looking for a local guy to prove the aod in their 650 or 700 horsepower car,but no one has contacted us as of yet.anyone interested let us know, special pricing of course.

hmmm ...my stage 2 TTA should be running by feb -march ... (or it might be sent to the crusher  )
