Once the trans fluid leaves the cooler, where does it go next?
Does it go to the pan or does it go into the working parts of the trans (lube)? Would it be of any benefit to install a filter after the cooler? Thanks

IT IS DIRECTED BACK INTO THE TRANS AND TRAVELS THROUGH THE CENTER SUPPORT AND INTO THE LUBE CIRCUIT WHERE IT FLOWS THROUGH THE SHAFTS AND FEEDS BUSHINGS ETC.

IT would only be helpful in removing debris generated by the pump and convertor in which case the trans would be going out.my humble opinion.

return line filters are not a bad idea in MHO. They may save on other internal damage if there is a failure or if the system wasn't completey or properly flushed.
