I posted this in the tranny section and didn't get much response so I figured I would try here as well
Started getting ready to pull the engine on a GN I just bought and found this thing in between the flywheel and the converter.
Why is it there?
It's supposed to be aan Art Carr non lock up converter.

It looks like a centering hub for the converter but the torque converter bolts should center it.
It is bolted the backside of the flywheel on the converter side

Looks like some sort of bored step shaft to extend the centering hub. I've never heard of it before but I noticed the spacer feet on the TC bolts.
