I have a new head unit (Alpine 9856) with new speakers up front and in the back. Now, my radio is real fuzzy. CD's are nice and clear, so that eliminates speaker wiring.

Do I just need to stick on a new antenna?
If so, should I go with a shorter, rubber one, or one that looks identical to what I have on my Regal now?
I like the looks of the black rubber antenna's, but performance is key.

If you seek the stations and nothing catch then the antenna might be unplugged or bad connection.

A solid mast antenna is the best. The rubber sucks on reception and looks ugly on any car. Do you have the stock power antenna?

No power antenna on my car.

It does pick up stations fine, and sometimes fairly clear, but most of the time there is just enough static to get on my nerves.

I'll try replacing the antenna.
