Has anyone Ran theyre Racetronics hot wire kit inside the car?. Im getting one soon and was wondering what is involved in doing so.

TIA
Kevin

i just did mine 2 days ago. i removed the rear seats and ran the wire through a hole cut into the trunk , up over wheel well through to passenger compartment, under the carpet by the drivers seat and through the firewall where the speeo cable is, up to the alternator. the speedo cable and hotwire share the firewall grommet. just take some of the matrial out from behind the grommet and you will see the light, just stick the end though there and look in the engine bay and pull it through. to route it under the carpet by the driver seat you got to take out the door sill plate but its 4 bolts, easy. when you get the rear seats out look on top of the wheel well right by the side of the car where you see the bundle of wires going through just slip the hotwire through there. its a pretty easy project just take your time and put everything back how you took it out. also the torx bolts on the back seats i used a 45 and they were in tight, in fact i bent the ridges on the end of the torx head and messed my socket wrench up too i think. HTH:D good luck

turbo buicks didn't mention this, but there is a nice channel under the door sill you can route the wires thru. The existing pump wire is in there (with others) and it just pops open, plenty of room. Nice and clean and no chance the wires will wear.

ya, scottyb, i saw that channel but i had routed the wire between the seat belt and seat and would have had to redo it all over again so i just put it under the carpet and insualting pad along the ridge and i never touch my foot there so i doubt it will wear very quickly.

Hey,

Installed that kit a couple months ago, very nice setup. I ran mine through the frame up to engine compartment. The wiring is armored in conduit and this makes very clean install.

Later,

John
