Alrighty. I'm new to this forum. I have a v6 4rth gen fbody (6l4oe or whatever trans) that I want to place a buick turbo in (the inspiration was gmhightechperformance's article on it being done before with alot of success) anyhow, I want to know your opinions on starting..should I start from the block up? does the 3.8 NA block differ from the turbo lc2 ( I know compression ratios differ alot) or should I go for something thats been refurbed or crated since i'm a new fish to the block.

You want to buy a wrecked or rusted TR so you get a complete drivetrain and all the nickle and dime stuff (which is really $25 and $50). Then sell off or junk the rest.

The next best thing is a complete TR Motor, Trans, harness and sensors.

The hardest way is starting with an NA shortblock and buying all the TR specific pieces.
