When installing a FM should I drill out the black plastic that runs on the bottom of the grill which has the holes for the grill springs. If you have taken it out what did you hook the springs to. Seem like taking it out will get more air to the IC?
Thanks
Sal

yes it does and just drill new holes in the aluminum bumper reinforcement for the springs to hook into. i even cut the grill on the left and right sides so in will fit taking the grill out of the front of the car, not from underneith it.

I heated a nail red hot and cut (melted) the plastic away. I was able to leave the holes for the springs and took just enough out to clear the FMIC.

I know this is an old thread, but can you post pics of your grill spring installation?

the GN I have now has a PTE fmic but the previous owner removed the grill springs and rigged the grille with zip ties. I want to reinstall the grill springs, but I can't remember how they're supposed to fit. I'm also a little confused by this thread and how a fmic affects the spring installation.

TIA
