I pulled my analog cluster along with the dash to replace lights, install 3.5" mids, install new dash plaque and clean up a bunch of unused wires from a previous owner. Got everything back together and noticed a black rubber nipple (hears your chance Charlie and Earl) in the floorboard. My gas gauge was not working right after reinstalling everything. Had a 1/8 tank left but gauge was showing 1/2. I took the cluster apart again to see if I could figure out where it goes, no luck. I tried putting the nipple on the 3 posts for the gas gauge. I put it on bottom left and it appeared to be about right on the fuel level. I went and put 6 gallons in it and it did not move at all. Putting it on the right side makes it go way past full. Top post makes bottom past empty. W/o it all it's even at the full mark. My sender has been replaced in the past 3 months and works perfect. Everything else cluster wise works right. Anybody know what's up with it?

Think I got working now by unplugging the sender at the pump then reinstalling the gauge w/o the nipple thingy.
