Sometimes when I try to start my TTA the fuel pressure gauge reads "0". If I bump the switch a few times it will finally kick the pumps and get pressure then start. When I cut the car off, the pressure "sometimes" drops back to zero..sometime it will hold pressure. Regardless, the car will get pressure once the switch is turned and start. It seems the car will not start or get immediate pressure only after long periods (over a week) of not being driven.

Any thoughts.

I'm going on a limb here..but..I think the TTA fuel pump is controlled by the oil pressure sender..whereas until there is sufficient oil pressure..the pump wont come on..like a safety.

Bad regulator could be bleeding off pressure along with a bad fuel pump..

HTH

Not the case. The TTA fuel pump will prime without any oil pressure before or after the car is started.

Thanks for the input though

NCTTA...what kind of FUEL system do you have!!..stock pump...XP dbl pumper...S/X..or weldon...aeromotive???...on my GN with a S/X pump,#10an line, sumped tank...my fuel pressure always goes to "0" when I cut the car off!....some pumps dont hold pressure...after the system is off:confused: joe

Joe,

I run twin 307s that are shimmed, stock fuel lines and a Accufab AFPR. This combo did hold at one time.

FPR probably toast.Take it apart and inspect for corrossion..

Dirt on FP check valve allowing drainback thru pump after being off awhile? If so, question is, how to access to clean.
