FUEL RAIL FITTING

What is the type of fitting called that goes on the fuel rail for the gage connection? Do you use it with the spring loaded valve stem or not? Thanks

It's called a Schrader valve. Not sure if you need to remove the core, but I believe you do, unless your fitting has its own little valve stem depressor inside of it, which would be nice, because then as soon as you remove it, the schrader valve would self seal again. The accessories that fit onto a schrader that require the valve stem to be removed are simply stupid in my mind, but I think they're the most common.

Is it actually a 4AN fitting without the stem to push in the schrader valve? I thought I read this somewhere?

I believe it is. But a long time ago there were fittings that would work I think, without removing the core/stem that's inside of the valve. Those make the most sense to me but you know engineers-if it ain't broke, fix it.

-4AN, remove valve core. That's the ticket.

Ok, now for the hose. Should I stick with a 4AN hose or use a smaller 3AN hose. I will use the socketless push on style but just didn't know the best size for the gage reading.

Get a shrader valve remover tool, it's like a hollow screw driver with a slot.

Pressure is pressure, use whichever you can work best with. I used traditional AN fittings with stainless braided teflon lined hose.
