I had bought an accufab AFPR a year ago. I had it on the car for 3 months. I took it off and put it back on recently. I have always thought the car had to crank longer with the adjustable regulator. I hooked an Accel Fuel Pressure diagnostic gauge up and when you turn the key forward, it goes to 45 where the pressure is set and then falls down. Sometimes it falls down to around 35 and other times it slowly goes down to zero. I went to the track and had many terrible 14.1 passes @ 98 MPH. It took me 3 seconds to go 1000 ft to the end. Could i have a bad regualtor that isn't holding pressure causing me to run outta fuel at the end of the track. I have an XP Plus pump also. I know the gauge is a good working gauge as well. Any info will help.

I would tend to think that if your fuel pressure didn't act in this manner with your other regulator in place, then the Accufab may indeed have a problem. Did you run the pressure test with your previous regulator?

need more info

I dont think the regulator is responsible for holding pressure
with the key off, the injectors and the fuel pump are.
As far as the 14.1 @98, we could use some Scanmaster data
to help figure out what's going on.:)

Is that one of those blue accufab regulators? Anyway, yes, if the valve's seat in the regulator is worn, it can cause the pressure to be inconsistant.

It is the black billet accufab regulator. When i turn the key to the "on" position, it goes to 45 and then falls fast or goes from 45 to 35, then down to 0. With the key on, the gauge should constantly read 45. I'm going to replace the regulator and see if that helps. Thanks for the responses.
