I make it a point to tell every GN owner I see, "hey, nice Monte Carlo!"

They always say, "Thanks, but it's a Grand National."

Me: "Oh yeah, didn't they only make like 500 of these - they are worth bank! Is this one of those ones?"

Every one of them: "The GNX... Yep, sure is"

Then I clue 'em in that I know what's up.

I've got a couple good ones and I've only had the car about 6 months. It's not a Grand National o my comments are a lot different but still just as dumb. Oh and my car has all the badging and decals on it so there's no mistaking it

- I was at the bank getting out and going up to the ATM when this guy goes that thing have a turbo on it? No dumbass it just has the emblem for fun.

- The other night at the local cruise in a guy walks up and says I had one just like this had a 350 in it. I told him this was a 3.8 and he kept rambling about how his car was the same as mine. How can it be the same with a different motor.

- After playing around with a 2001 Mustang Gt (he's been killed by every F-body in town except one stock LT! Camaro with a 250 lbs guy who dirves it) he comes up to me and says you got a lot more traction than me with those drag radials. That's when I told him I dind't have traction problems with my regular radials that because of turbo lag I don't have the instant torque. He still continued to complain.
