All TR's in '87 had the G87 code. Means 8.5" rear.
If you have no G80 additional code you do not have limited slip.
Not sure if it can be added or you need to change to an aftermarket unit.

Every TR has a G87. That is an 8.5" ring gear rear axle.
If you don't have a G80, for $330 + shipping and about $150 for install you can have an Eaton put in and never have to worry about not having positraction again. $500 sounds like a lot of money for a positraction, but that is why you should pay $500 less for non posi cars.
