Gettin the speedometer cable out

I was wondering if anyone has accomplished this task on a 79 turbo regal without cruise. I can't figure out how to get the light switch out to take the dash out. It says in my book to pull on the knob as you push some clip in but i don't see any clip back there. Help!

Look around the outside edge of the knob and you'll see a slot. Slide a screwdriver along the slot, away from the dash and it should release the clip. The bezel underneath the know screws out.


Sometimes pulling real hard, the knob will just slide off.
