Got my eyes on a set but two of the wheels need the lips re done. What's involved in the process and is it a D.I.Y. Type of project ? I'm assuming I would need to chemically remove the clear coat, polish, then reclear.

Sounds about right, Aircraft stripper, then wetsand all the way up to 2000 grit, powerball & polish. Probably have to repaint the centers. If it were me I wouldn't re clear. I spent about 3 hours a piece on a set of 16" rims for my truck, they were bad enough I started with 800 grit paper. They came out perfect, and I decided to have them powder coated clear, IDK if the shop was really pathetic, or it happens all the time, but the "Clear" turned the wheels a charcoal metallic
